Welcome to LocalWino.com, your local guide and resource to wine.

The world of wine can be intimidating, if not at the very least, just plain overwhelming. It does not have to be that way, nor should it be that way.

Books, magazines, expert reviews, ratings, the internet, wine shops, and other people’s favorites can really confuse the issue of finding the right wine for our own tastes. Even with the flood of information you can gather online or websites now available to buy wine online, it can still be a daunting task to sift through all of the ‘expert’ info at your fingertips.

If you’re like most of us, we just want a good wine at a good price and the occasional ‘fine’ wine for those special times. More importantly, we want to feel comfortable making good informed purchase decisions and locally where to find the wines we like for our own palates. The local wine shop, markets or our favorite restaurant are great places to spend the time with people who can help us out or better inform us to make these choices. But it really comes down to one basic principle…what tastes good to us for the way we like to drink it.

Now, that does not mean that we cannot learn, explore and grow our taste with wine to enhance the entire experience. In fact, beyond just “tasting good”, there is a whole other world that you can learn to enjoy – food pairing, aperitifs and digestifs, proper glassware, wine flights, sparkling wine, tastings & tours, history and much, much more.

So, start slow, go to the discussion forum Wine Basics , read and post on the forum regularly, and don’t be shy to throw out a lot of questions as you are still learning. Go to our Wine Resources Page and explore what the world of wine has to offer and always feel free to contact us at LocalWino Info.

Happy tasting, and best of luck on all of your wine experiences, big or small.

Cheers,

LocalWino.com Team
